Kootenai County Farmer's Market

The Kootenai County Farmer's Market has been in continuous operation for the last twenty-one years.  About the second year after their founding, I decided to check it out as a vendor and lugged along an arm-load of photo enlargements.  In short, I had been with the Farmer's Market for almost as long as they had been in operation.

Photos do not sell well.  Which is why I also included plants and produce, flowers and herbs.  Craft items came along sometime later, and are actually more of a "hot seller" at the market site than even photos.  Which is also why needle work is included on this web site for anyone who is interested.  But, the principle focus of this web site still remains the photos themselves and what can be made with them.  Which is why photos as craft items also has a page to itself--photo greeting cards.

I have an enormous garden here in the Dalton Gardens area.  Here, I grow produce for sale.  I put many plants "under lights" that I plan to sell that takes a long time to grow, such as tomatoes, some herbs such as Rosemary, peppers and eggplant.  And yes, I save some for the garden as well, each year.  After all, it isn't just plants, crafts and photos that I bring down to my Farmer's Market Booth, it is also produce as it comes into season.

Still life with cat.  Originally a base photograph for computer generated enhancements using the Print Shop.

The Kootenai County Farmer's Market actually has two sites.  One is on the corner of Prairie Avenue and Highway 95.  That is the Saturday site, with Market hours from the Saturday before Mother's Day to the third week in October.  Hours of operation:  8:00 am to 1:00 pm.  The second site is Fifth Street and Sherman Avenue.  This is the Wednesday market.  Hours of operation:  4:00pm to 7:00 or 8:00 pm.  Date start: 16 May 2007, to the end of September.

As you have visited this site and acquainted yourself with what I have to offer, I hope that I have given you the best information possible for being quite the novice "web site" designer and made it fairly exciting for you to be here.  Here's hoping to do business with you soon.

Sincerely,

Joan E. Harman
