Needle Craft

Samples of things I make.  Machine knitted pillows, afghan, dish cloth, scarf.  Knit around shawl.

The tools:  Crochet hooks, lap loom, regular loom, stick weave, knit-a-round loom, oblong knitting loom, knitting needles, knitting machine..

What I make:  clothing and home accessories.

I shall now describe what can be made:

Afghans can take a long time to produce, that is, if they are crocheted or hand knitted.  The fasted possible knitted afghan can be done in a matter of a week using the knitting machine.  Some patterns are possible even on the knitting machine comparable to that found in hand knitting.

Ponchos can be crocheted, hand knitted, machine knitted or even created on the "Knit-a-Round" knitting loom.

I prefer to make the caps machine knitted.

Scarves can be machine knitted, hand knitted, crocheted and "Knit-a-Round."

Dish clothes, dish towels and pot holders:  As shown in the "Help" section, each of these items is made from worsted weight cotton yarn.  The dish towels are generally machine knitted, the dish clothes can be machine knitted, hand knitted or crocheted The pot holders can be machine knitted or hand knitted but I usually create the "magic square" pattern in crochet.

Rugs, using the Q-hook or stick weave.

Shawls are more quickly made using the "Knit-a-Round" althogh they can also be machine knitted, hand knitted and crocheted.

Pillows, stick weave, machine knitted, crocheted.

I don't typically do clothing.

Special requests:  I can do some thread crochet.  If you are interested in small thread crochet accents such as filet crochet, I do have patterns that I can discuss with you.  I can make purses.  I also have patterns for toys in crochet, that if you are interested, I can make them to order.

Hopefully, the information provided will be of help to you.
